The SU women's basketball team was already off to the best start in program history heading into Queens on Wednesday, but they left knowing the nation will be buzzing over Brittney Sykes tonight.
In the final seconds of the game, the freshman Sykes pulled off a steal, and then nailed a shot from beyond half-court at the buzzer to earn the # 22 Orange a 60-57 win over St. John's, in what was one of their most dramatic wins ever.

Sykes also led the Orange with 16 points and seven rebounds. Kayla Alexander and Shakeya Leary contributed 14 points each. Alexander now sits two points behind Nicole Michael's program record of 1,787 career points.
Syracuse will wrap up its three game road trip this Saturday when the take on # 25 Villanova.
