CARRIER DOME -- Despite 25 points from Whitesboro's Jenn Deuel, the Jamesville-Dewitt Red Rams girls basketball team cruised their way to their second straight Section III Class A title with a 54-37 victory.

En route to being honored as Tournament MVP, J-D's Cydney Goodrum scored 13 points in the victory. Senior Kayleigh Cavanaugh hit a three pointer as the buzzer sounded at the end of the first half,  3 of her 10 points on the day.

"It feels great, I mean last year was the first time we won in 14 years, so to bring this back for our school two times in a row I just think is a really good accomplishment," Cavanaugh says.

J-D now goes on to the State Tournament, facing Troy of Section II at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Lemoyne College.
