The games may be over, but SU Basketball fans will be tuning into ESPNU on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM to watch highly touted recruit Nerlens Noel announce which College he'll play basketball for next year. Nerlens is choosing between Syracuse, Kentucky and Georgetown, and admits to ESPN that there has been a lot of pressure involved in making the final decision, especially since reclassifying from the Class of 2013 to the Class of 2012 in back in February.
"People don't understand how tough this is," said Noel to ESPN, "it's the toughest decision I've ever had to make. Everyone thinks they know where we're going."
You can read more about Noel's thoughts in a feature on ESPNU's website called "Nerlens' Notebook: Pre-decision thoughts". In Noel's latest writings on Tuesday he indicates that he still hasn't made the decision yet.
"Anyone who knows me knows my mom, Dorcina, has to sign off on any decision and that she will play a major part in any decision," writes Noel, "So tonight (Tuesday) is when I’ll talk to her about it all. Any “recruiting guy” who says he has some news from a “source” is funny, too, because the source would have to be me or my mom and they’re not talking to her and I don’t talk to anyone. Like I always say, only believe what you read here."
Shabazz Muh, another highly touted recruit, will also be announcing where he'll be playing next season tomorrow night on ESPNU, reportedly deciding between UCLA, UNLV, Duke, Kansas and Kentucky.
Noel, the top-ranked player in the ESPNU 100, also spoke to the Boston Globe recently on just how difficult this decision has been for him.
