SYRACUSE -- It's a friendly but competitive battle for Syracuse's starting quarterback in 2010.

Ryan Nassib was named the starter in 2009 spring practice, only to serve as Greg Paulus' backup for the season. Nassib did see plenty of action though, and showed signs that he could be a very good Orange quarterback. You can see that confidence in spring ball this season.

Enter redshirt freshman Charley Loeb. Charley is the only quarterback currently on the team recruited by Doug Marrone's staff (Jonny Miller and John Kinder don't arrive on campus until the summer). Loeb is intriguing, a 6'4" lefty that offers high potential in his own right.

Both signal callers say that the competition is making them better and whoever is the starter is the best choice to lead the Orange offense.
