Two Syracuse Orange football players will not play in the upcoming Pinstripe Bowl after breaking team rules, according to an email sent out Christmas night.

In a brief statement released shortly after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, the SU Athletics Department said "Syracuse University head football coach Doug Marrone announced today that sophomore Adonis Ameen-Moore and junior Max Beaulieu will not participate in the 2012 New Era Pinstripe Bowl due to violations of athletic department rules."

The statement did not elaborate on the specific nature of the rule violations.

Ameen-Moore is a running back from Colorado who was most notable for his role in the Orange's short-yardage "tank" package this season. He amassed 108 yards and five touchdowns on 30 carries in 2012.

Beaulieu is a tight end from Florida who had not played this season.

The Orange take on former Big East conference rival West Virginia in the Pinstripe Bowl on Saturday at Yankee Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on ESPN.
