Former Orange Melo and Joseph sent to Celtic's D-League team

Two former Syracuse Orange stars have been assigned to the NBA's Developmental League by the Boston Celtics. Both Fab Melo and Kris Joseph have been sent to the Maine Red Claws, the Celtics D-League affiliate who have just opened their training camp for the upcoming season.

The 7 foot tall Melo, who wasdrafted by Boston as the 22nd pick this passed June,  saw action in all of Boston's eight preseason games, averaging 1.3 rebounds in 5.9 minutes per game.

Joseph, who was the 51st pick in the NBA Draft, made Boston's opening day roster after averaging 4.6 points and 1.9 rebounds in 10.8 minutes during the preseason.
