LAKE PLACID -- The Oswego State men's hockey team jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period of the NCAA Championship game in Lake Placid, but Wisconsin Eau-Claire stormed back with four unanswered goals, winning the title 5-3. It was Oswego State's fourth straight Frozen Four appearance.

Bobby Gertsakis and Chris Muise both scored in the first period, but Wisconsin Eau-Claire's Jordan Singer took advantage of a power play a few minutes later to cut the Laker lead to one. Andrew Wilcox tied the game 2-2 with less than a minute to play in the first period.

Oswego went 0-5 on power plays, which made them miss important chances in the second period. Dan Olszewski scored midway through the second period to give Wisconsin Eau-Claire the 3-2 advantage going into the final period of the season.

Devin Mantha's goal with about 12:00 minutes to play gave Wisconsin a 4-2 cushion. That goal was made even more important when Laker Bobby Gertsakis scored his second goal of the game to cut the lead to 4-3. Oswego had chances down the stretch, but could not get over the top, and Eau-Claire's Kurt Weston added an empty net goal with a minute left to seal the victory.

Gertsakis and Muise were both named to the All-Tournament team.
