SYRACUSE -- There is a winter weather advisory in effect for all of Central New York through 7pm Monday with snow changing to a wintry mix. The advisory continues through 7am for some areas in far northern areas.

The wintry mix will cause slick and possibly icy roadways on untreated streets and highways.

Dozens of fender-bender accidents have been reported across the state and in Central New York as snow changed to sleet and freezing rain, including one accident that temporarily closed the I-690-East onramp to 635-South.

Lewis County issued winter weather travel advisory for Monday evening. In Sullivan County, local government buildings closed early as snow changed to freezing rain Monday afternoon.

Areas of scattered drizzle and light rain showers are expected Monday night after the wintry mix passes.

The temperatures will rise above freezing Monday night and into Tuesday. The expected high for Tuesday is 46 degrees.

Temperatures will be warm on Wednesday, approaching 60 degrees, followed by colder and more wintry conditions again Thursday and into the weekend.
