SYRACUSE -- Syracuse University football is taking a big step into their next era today, as new head coach Scott Shafer and his coaching staff watch the 2013 recruiting class become official, one that they hope will be a big part of their future in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

By mid morning there were already 14 new Syracuse Orange, including tight end Aaron Batten and defensive back Chauncey Scissum. Also signing on Wednesday morning were quarterbacks Mitch Kimble and Austin Wilson, receivers Corey Cooper and Corey Winfiel along with offensive linemen Jon Burton, John Miller and Alex Hayes.

On the other side of the ball, defensive linemen Isaiah Johnson and Trevon Trejo signed on the dotted line, as did linebackers Luke Arciniega and Josh Kirkland, and defensive back Darius Kelly.
