Orange Madness kicked off the 2012 SU Basketball Season in style, as the new look Orange took to the hardwood on Friday night. Hall of Fame Coach Jim Boeheim addressed the loud and sold out crowd by yelling "We have the best fans in college basketball!" Boeheim made a grand entrance, riding into the Dome in a military hum-vee, escorted by soldiers from Syracuse and Ft. Drum. He stepped out of the vehicle wearing his Team USA warmup suit from the 2012 London Olympics and soon revealed a gold medal from under the outfit.
It was the first look at Boeheim's team without huge contributors like Scoop Jardine, Kris Joseph, Dion Waiters and Fab Melo, and the talent seemed to be overflowing on the court with several high flying dunks.
