While the Carrier Dome was no where near as filled with fans as it is during a Syracuse Orange basketball game, the fans sure made it sound like it was when Carmelo Anthony was introduced on Monday night. The Former Orange star co-led the way for the New York Knicks, dropping 23 points in his "old stompin' ground", matching his teammate Jason Richardson's 23 points, in a 98-90 preseason loss to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Anthony said earlier in the day that he was inspired to be back in Syracuse, a place where he spent just 8 months back in 2002-2003, compiling a perfect 17-0 home record on the way to Su's first ever National Championship. Melo says he now hopes to help bring that same championship feeling to New York City.

"It's just motivating," says Anthony, "just to know what I was able to do here by bringing a Championship to the University and to the town. It motivates me to want to bring that back, to my (new) town now New York City. It kind of puts everything into perspective."
