Syracuse Head Basketball Coach Jim Boeheim said after Monday's win over Eastern Michigan that his team had a lot to work on, and on Thursday night they continued to figure themselves out with a 84-53 win over Long Beach State. C.J. Fair led the way with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Micheal Carter-Willams joined Carter-Williams in the double double club with 15 points and 10 assists.
"I felt like myself," reflected Fair, "I just think that what was different today was I got a couple easy points early. I'm basically playing the same amount of minutes I played the last few games, but I got a couple easy points early that got me going. I was being aggressive and I think that being on the offensive glass helped me a lot."
"We just went out there and played our game really," said Carter-Williams, "we try to force that many turnovers and try not to turn over the ball and just go out there and play Syracuse basketball"
Syracuse improved it's record to 7-0 to start the season and increased its home winning streak to 27 games and 49 consecutive regular-season non-conference wins.
"I thought we did a pretty good job defensively," said Orange Head Coach Jim Boeheim, "for the most part, our pressure was good. We forced some turnovers. Offensively, I thought we did a pretty good job. Second half, we missed some open shots and got the ball knocked away inside a few times, but overall I thought we did a good job."
The Orange cap off three games in six night on Saturday night when they take on Monmouth at the Carrier Dome starting at 7 O'Clock.
