SYRACUSE -- Expect the Big 10 talks to heat up once again this week as the conference holds its annual meetings in Chicago. And no doubt, in some capacity, conference expansion is bound to be talked about. While the Big 10 set a 12 to18 month timetable last December, few expect that to hold up.
With that said, Syracuse is said to be among the prime targets for the Big 10, along with Nebraska, Missouri, Rutgers, and Notre Dame. When we ran into Pearl Washington at the Paradise Market on Erie Blvd, we just had to ask for his take on what he thinks SU should do.
“The Pearl” understands the University “needs to do what they needs to do”. He loves the Big East as it existed in the ’80’s and says the current 16 team conglomerate has watered down the rivalries.
