Sectionals open up with a Cazenovia win

College lacrosse playoffs may be in full swing, but the high school lacrosse playoffs kicked off Saturday. In Section III Girls C-2, 8th seeded Cazenovia edged out the 9 seed General Brown 17-15. General Brown led 11-10 at halftime in a high scoring affair, but the Lakers rebounded in the 2nd half for the two goal win.

The Lakers were led by Gabby Jaquith, who scored just one goal, but recorded 8 assists, for a 9-point effort. Kaitlyn Button and Katie Kleine each scored 5 goals for the Lakers. General Brown was led by Nicole Eamer who scored 4 goals and registered 3 assists.

The Lakers now advance to play #1 seeded CBA on the road Monday at 6:30.
