In this week's Toyota High School Game of the Week, Class B's Cazenovia Lakers were looking to keep their perfect 10-0 record intact.

Trailing 21-7 at the half to Chenango Valley, the Lakers got new life when they recovered a botched punt at the Chenango Valley 10.

Cazenovia took advantage of the good field position when three plays later quarterback Jeff Hopsicker scored from 8 yards out on a QB draw to make it 21-14.

But the Lakers wouldn't get any closer. In the 4th, Kevin Cox hooked up with Conor Mahoney for a 16 yard touchdown pass to extend the Chenango Valley lead to 27-14. That would be the final.

The Lakers finish the season at 10-1, and a lot to be proud of for head coach Tom Neidl's gang.

"They made a tremendous effort to get to where they are and they beat some very good football teams along the way," says Neidl. "I'm proud of each and every one of them."

Hopsicker was named offensive MVP for Cazenovia.
