There was some good news today out of the big apple regarding the Orange football team.

SU Athletics says most of the Orange football team is expected in New York City today.

However, some players are still grounded.

Running back Delone Carter tweeted that he is still stuck in Akron and won't be able to get into the city until Tuesday.

Last night over half the team was grounded after heavy winter snowstorms swept across the northeast.

The best news of the day is that one of those players in New York City now is punter Rob Long.

SU says the football captain will begin treatment for malignant cells in his brain in early January.

He made it through brain surgery earlier this month as surgeons removed a tumor.

Long will not be able to play in the game, but SU says he will be one of the players talking during a scheduled news conference tomorrow afternoon leading into the Pinstripe Bowl.
