You can find the names of Ben Seketa and Carson Elias all over the West Genesee swimming records.
The two are some of the best the school has ever seen and they're also best friends.
But things weren't always that way.
Growing up, the two were rivals on the club swimming circuit, wanting nothing more than to beat one another.
10 years later, the two say it's fun to look back at their old rivalry.
"Originally, we were big competitors, and now we're all very close, a tight knit family kind of thing. So it's a big change," Seketa says. "It's funny to look back to see how far we've come and that we're still together like this."
"Back when I was ten and eleven, it was amazing because all we wanted to do was just beat each other, and now we've come to swim together," Elias says.
Seketa and Elias swim together on the 200 Medley relay team. They've broken the state record in the state finals the past two years, but finished second both times.
Now they have one more shot at winning a state title as seniors, and they don't want it to go to waste.
"Everything we've done since we were little has built up to this," Seketa says. "So to end on the highest note possible would just be amazing and it's been the goal forever."
"It's been a wild ride, it's been up and down and up and down and I hope three times is a charm," Elias says.
Seketa, Elias and the rest of the Wildcats will compete in Sectionals this weekend in order to qualify for the state meet.
Congratulations to Ben Seketa and Carson Elias, this week's Bryant and Stratton CNY Central Athletes!
