Saturday was action packed with boys basketball championships, Sunday belonged to the girls.
All classes except for Class C (That overall title game is Tuesday night) were decided on Sunday.
In Class AA, UConn-bound Breanna Stewart led Cicero-North Syracuse to another Section III Championship, as the Northstars handled Utica-Proctor 52-38. Stewart scored 16 points in the win.
In Class A, Whitesboro took care of business against its arch rival from New Hartford 64-32. Allie Cady led the way for the undefeated (21-0) Warriors.
Class B witnessed a rally from Cazenovia, as the Lakers took out Utica-Notre Dame 51-42. Ellen Burr led the way with 22 points. Raeanne Clabeaux netted 17 and the Lakers earned the Class B Championship.
Class D was an absolute classic between Sackets Harbor and Hamilton. Both have championship experience and it showed on Sunday, Hamilton trailed by three with under 15 seconds to play when Katie Weeks was fouled in three point land and nailed all three free throws to send the game to overtime. In OT, the Emerald Knights held off the Harbor, and earned the Class D title.
