The 2011 football Orange are taking practice on the road this weekend. Syracuse will hold an intra-squad scrimmage tomorrow (March 26) at Sahlen's Field in Rochester, presented by Summit Federal Credit Union. The special trip west will be the first time Syracuse has held a spring practice session away from campus.

"We are New York State's team and we want to make sure that people feel like they can reach out and touch this program," said head coach Doug Marrone. "Rochester has always been very good for Syracuse University and I think it's important that we show our appreciation. I'm excited about reaching out to the people in Rochester."

The gates at Sahlen's Field will open at 11:00 am for the practice. The Orange will take the field at 12:00 p.m. for the two hour scrimmage. Following the scrimmage, the team will greet fans and hold an autograph session at the field. All spring practices are free and open to the public.

"The Summit has been a proud supporter of Syracuse Athletics and now we're proud to help bring the football team to Rochester for an up close and personal event for the first time," said Mike Vadala, President & CEO of The Summit and Syracuse alumnus. "We believe that the exposure for the team in Rochester will be a great opportunity for fans to see the players and get people and businesses excited about supporting a program on the rise to national prominence again."

Syracuse's annual Spring game is Saturday, April 16 in the Carrier Dome. Admission is free.

New season tickets can be ordered now online and at the Carrier Dome Box Office (888-DOMETIX). Renewals for preferred seating, premium seating, and season tickets can be processed online. New preferred/premium seat patrons are invited to call the Carrier Dome Box Office for more information.
