PROVIDENCE, RI -- Syracuse seniors John Lade and Stephen Keogh have been recognized for their performances in Saturday’s 11-8 victory over previously unbeaten Notre Dame. Lade was named the BIG EAST Conference Defensive Player of the Week and Keogh was picked to league’s weekly honor roll on Monday, May 2.
Lade set a career high and tied the school single-game record with six caused turnovers in SU’s win against the Irish. He guarded Notre Dame leading scorer Sean Rogers for the majority of the game and held him to one goal on two shots.
Keogh scored a game-high four goals in the victory. He passed Brad Kotz on SU’s career goals list with the performance and now ranks 10th in school history with 130 career goals. It was Keogh’s 21st career hat trick and he leads the Orange with 30 goals in 2011.
Georgetown’s Davey Emala earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors for his two-goal, six-assist performance in the Hoyas’ win against Rutgers. Emala’s eight points and six assists were both BIG EAST single-game records.
Syracuse concludes the regular season on Saturday, May 7 with a 1 p.m. game against St. John’s at the Carrier Dome.
