Cornell Lacrosse season over after Virginia barrage of goals

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Chris Bocklet scored three goals and Steele Stanwick added three goals and four assists to put Virginia in the NCAA lacrosse tournament semifinals with a 13-9 win over Cornell on Saturday.

The Cavaliers (11-5) led 10-4 at halftime after falling behind 4-1 in the first quarter. Virginia's defense held the Big Red scoreless for 22 minutes, 32 seconds spanning the first three quarters. Roy Lang ended the drought 3:35 into the third quarter.

Steve Mock scored four goals for Cornell (14-3) and Rob Pannell had three.

Virginia goaltender Adam Ghitelman stopped 13 of 22 shots.
