BALDWINSVILLE -- This week's Bryant and Stratton College CNY Central Athlete is a Section III Champion.
Baldwinsville's Lauren Petty fired an impressive 76 at Fox Fire Golf Club to edge Auburn's Larissa Carter (78) for the individual Section III Girls Golf Championship.
She helped herself out immensely with a birdie on the 122 yard Par-3 17th hole.
For Lauren the victory was a long time coming, the past two years she's finished 2nd at this event, now in her senior year she can finally be called the champion!
As exciting as it is to win the title there's an added bonus. By winning it, all Lauren earns a spot in the Alliance Bank Classic of the Futures Tour to be played at Drumlins later this summer.
Certainly this is just the start of a bright career, Lauren will take her talents to Hofstra University on Long Island next year.
