The stage is set Saturday for a showdown of the best baseball players in Central New York.

Onondaga Team 1 will meet Onondaga Team 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Marcellus High School. Both teams haven't lost, so the only way they could be eliminated is with two losses on Championship Sunday.

Onondaga Team 1 had a very impressive victory on Friday 10-4 over Metro NYC. The New York City squad scored an early 2-0 lead in the first inning but the local boys rallied with a 5-run third inning to take home the victory.

Shawn Peake was 3-4 at the plate with a homerun and 4 RBI on the day. Joe Pokrentowski settled down after that first inning and earned the win on the mound.

Stay tuned to CNY Central throughout the weekend and we'll keep you posted on the progress of the Babe Ruth Tournament.
