New Syracuse Silver Knights head coach Tommy Tanner
The Syracuse Silver Knights have found their king, or rather, their head coach.
Team president Tommy Tanner will serve as the franchise's inaugural coach. The Silver Knights play in the Major Indoor Soccer League.
Tanner is a Henninger grad and also played on the last professional soccer team in Syrause, the Salty Dogs.
He will be joined on staff by another local guy, CBA boys soccer coach Joe Papaleo
Tanner and his staff are hard at work putting a team together with the season starting in about three months.
Tanner says they've recieved a lot of interest from players around the world who want to play in Syracuse.
"We're getting players, Brazil, Italy, Ireland, everyday, calling us, e-mailing us their videos," Tanner says.
The team will hold open tryouts August 27th and 28th at the CNY Family Sports Center.
