The Onondaga Central football team is synonymous with success, and they hope to keep that trend alive in 2011.

The Tigers are a perennial power, and defending Section III Champions. They have the history too, past stars include Michigan's all-time leading rusher Mike Hart and current Central Florida star Latavius Murray.

All of that history though, doesn't matter to this year's team.

It's a new year says Head Coach Jason Ryan, and the new team needs to create its own identity hopefully just as successful as the teams of the past.

Onondaga looked great in a scrimmage on Saturday against Syracuse ITC, and opens the season Friday night hosting Cato-Meridian.
