SYRACUSE -- The court case against Syracuse University basketball star Fabricio de Melo is on hold while he's in counseling.
Melo is charged with criminal mischief after police say he damaged his girlfriend's car during a domestic dispute on Memorial Day. Melo was supposed to be in Syracuse City Court Monday afternoon, but the hearing was postponed until he can complete counseling related to the case.
Melo is accused of damaging the turn signal lever of his girlfriend's car during an argument. His next court appearance is set for November 30.
