It's become an exciting tradition for local athletes in Central New York, the Believe to Achieve Awards put on by the Syracuse Sports Corporation.

Every sports season the group recognizes local athletes that have deserved accolades for their efforts.

Starting with the Individual Female Award, which went to Jamesville-Dewitt gymnast Taylor-Rae Danforth, who improved vastly over the past year, and even earned the honor of team captain as a junior.

The Individual Male Award went to CBA's Brendan Smith, who once again proved he's one of the best cross-country runners in the state.

The team awards were given to the CBA Girls Swimming team and the Tully Boys Soccer Team.

Other awards included the Coach of the Year that went to Hy Bryant, of Marcellus Volleyball and the Reed Hawke Excellence in Sportsmanship Award which went to Robert Premoveau for curling.
