Usually, championship games are tight battles, where every single play has a great impact on the game. For Breanna Stewart and the Cicero North-Syracuse girls basketball team, their Class AA Federation title game was just another win in a remarkable season. Murray Bergtraum, a school from New York City, had no chance, as the Northstars cruised with a 60-28 victory.

With the win, the 23-3 Northstars became the first non-city school to win the Federation title since 2001. Stewart, destined for the University of Connecticut in the fall, finished the game with 22 points and 15 rebounds, earning the Class AA MVP trophy.

Just one week ago, the Northstars won the Class AA state championship in Glens Falls.

Bishop Ludden, Class B state champions, fell in the Federation final, 62-52.
