SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Senior midfielder Sarah Holden and sophomore attacker Alyssa Murray each scored four goals, and Syracuse beat Dartmouth, 15-5, on Sunday in the first round of the NCAA women's lacrosse tournament.

The fourth-seeded Orange (17-3) advance to the quarterfinals, where they'll host fifth-seeded North Carolina next weekend.

Syracuse beat Dartmouth 22-4 during the regular season, but this time the Big Green (12-5) made the Orange work harder. Dartmouth played deliberate, possession offense and tight defense and left the field tied, 3-3, at halftime.

The game stayed close until midway through the second half, when the Orange went on a 6-0 run to build an insurmountable 11-4 lead with just under 9 minutes remaining.

Dartmouth secured its NCAA tournament bid after defeating Penn, 6-4, for the Ivy League title.

The Orange advances to meet North Carolina in the Carrier Dome next weekend for the right to advance to the Final Four.
