The Liverpool Warriors will compete in the Section III Class A championship game after defeating the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets 10-7. Kyle DeAngelis led the way for Liverpool with 3 goals and 1 assist. Kevin Lux carried the fight for the Hornets with 3 goals and 1 assist in a losing cause. The Warriors will now take on the West Genesee Wildcats who took care of Baldwinsville 11-4. With the win the Wildcats improved to 17-1 on the season.
The Carthage Comets defeated the Watertown Cyclones on Saturday with a final score of 9-4. The Comets earned themselves a chance to compete in the Class B championship against powerhouse Jamesville-Dewitt Red Rams.
The J-D Red Rams cruised to victory over the East Syracuse Minoa Spartans 20-3. Deke Burns was the key player with 4 goals and 1 assist. Jordan Evans, Lucas Johnson, McLaren Brady, and Mike Perkins also played significant roles in the Red Rams victory.
The Homer Trojans took care of the Marcellus Mustangs with a final score of 7-5. The Mustangs scored three unanswered goals in the third quarter, but the Trojans held on for the victory, earning themselves a chance to play in the Class C championship.
Homer will face the Cazenovia Lakers in the title game after defeating Lafayette 11-10 in an overtime thriller. The Lakers came back from five point points down in the 4th quarter, and tied the game at 10 with 2.3 seconds left. Ryan Cook scored the winning goal to earn the Lakers the victory.
