Central New York will have more then Tully's Lopez Lomong to cheer on this upcoming week on the track. Cornell University graduate Morgan Uceny got her London Olympics underway on Monday, finishing second in her round one heat of the 15-hundred meters, advancing to the semifinals. Uceny finished 9th overall with a time of 4.06:87. She'll now shift her focus to this Wednesday's semifinals, looking for a spot in Friday's finals.
Uceny set seven school records and was a four-time All-American before graduating for Cornell in 2007.

LONDON (AP) - Defending Olympic champion Dawn Harper, American teammate Lolo Jones and world champion Sally Pearson advanced to the semifinals of the women's 100-meter hurdles on Monday.
Harper, Jones and Pearson won their respective heats. Pearson had the fastest time in the seven heats, covering the distance in 12.57 seconds - the fastest first-round time in Olympic history.
In other preliminary events, world-record holder David Rudisha of Kenya and American Nick Symmonds were among those who advanced to the semifinals in the men's 800. World champion Jenny Simpson of the United States needed a late push to advance in the women's 1,500. Fellow American Morgan Uceny also moved on.
