Christian Brothers Academy is going back to the Carrier Dome and is making history in the process.
The Brothers took out West Genesee 35-13 on Friday night in the Section III, Class AA semifinals and punched its ticket to the Section III championship.
The trip to the title game marks the fourth time in a row CBA has made it to the championship game, which is a Section III record.
Coach Joe Casamento wants his team to be proud of that, but reminds them there's still work to be done. "Championships aren't won on Saturday, they're won (at practice) Monday through Friday" Casamento told his team after the game.
DeShawn Salter paced the Brothers on the ground with 159 rushing yards and two touchdowns. J.R. Zazzara connected with Andre Dowdell three times, but they were all for big strikes. Dowdell finished with 3 catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Zazzara was 7-11 passing for 167 yards and three touchdowns.
The past three seasons, CBA has fallen short in the Section III title game. 2009 and 2010 saw very close losses to Baldwinsville and in 2011 the Brothers fell to the team it vanquished tonight, West Genesee.
