"The Battle on the Midway" has turned into a "Battle with the NFL" now that the game slated to be played on board the USS Midway between Syracuse and San Diego State has been moved to Sunday. SU Athletics confirmed late Tuesday afternoon that the game, originally slated for Friday at 8 PM eastern, will now be played at 4 PM eastern on Sunday because of bad weather in the San Diego area on Friday.
"We remain committed to this once-in-a-lifetime experience for our student-athletes and our fans." said Syracuse Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross, "We are very sorry for the inconvenience this change may have caused our fans. The weather predictions have forced the postponement."
The game will be televised by Fox Sports San Diego and carried on Fox Sports Regional networks.
