Bob Costas returns to Syracuse

SYRACUSE -- Bob Costas returned to Syracuse Wednesday night to receive national honors at the 2008 Citizen of the Year award dinner at Temple Adath Yeshurun. Costas, of course, attended Syracuse University and worked here at Channel 3 in the early stages of his broadcasting career. He has worked for NBC Sports since the early 1980s, and is the host of NBC’s Football Night in America as well as the recent Olympics coverage.
The four local honorees were
- Ray Halbritter, National Representative and CEO of the Oneida Nation Enterprises
- Margaret Martin, VP of Marketing, Communications and Development for St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center
- Irwin Davis, President and CEO of the Metropolitan Development Association of Central New York
- Arnie Freeman, Executive Director of Temple Adath Yeshurun
