LIVERPOOL --

If you’re a fan of Syracuse basketball, you probably don’t need any reminders about the upcoming Big East Tournament, but you may be concerned about costs. Local travel agents say that the costs of traveling to New York City and elsewhere have gone down significantly over the past year to try and entice people to travel. "Getting there and back, I mean the airfares are reasonable, the hotels are inexpensive so if you were to stay in New York for four nights, travel down and back you could probably do it for five hundred dollars,” says Joe Janowski with Travel Leaders in Liverpool.

To make those numbers work, you might need an assist from Caz Limo’s luxury bus service. Mugsy McGraw says the owner is a big SU fan and "he wanted to do something for Central New York so, he started a special of ninety nine dollars round trip from Syracuse to New York."

But, if you want tickets to the games, Janowski says you might need to look around. "We're told the tournament is sold out for tickets. But, if you get down there, you can always find tickets."

There’s no doubt that the economy is struggling but, Janowski says you can’t keep a loyal sports fan down.” The fan usually finds a way over and above a lot of other things to follow and get to a tournament, Big East Tournament or NCAA regional tournament. So, your die hard fan is going to go."

Hopefully, the Orange make it an extended stay.
