On this Thanksgiving, who better to be our Dunkin' Donuts Action News Athlete than a guy who specializes in getting turkeys. In the sports of Bowling, getting a turkey is getting three strikes in a row, and Henninger's Bobby Moro is one of the best in Section III at pulling that off. One thing that is for sure is that is is the leader of the Black Knight bowling team, and certainly one of the best High School Bowlers in Central New York.
"It tends to put more pressure on myself", says Moro, "and even my team because they look up to me too as a leader. It's sort of a thing where i need to keep that title. and i like that. It pushes me to do better."
And that motivation must run in Moro's blood. He comes from a long line of successful bowlers, his grandfather is a Syracuse Bowling Hall of Famer, and the name Moro has been associated with Bowling in our area for years. Just one of the reasons why Bobby Moro seems compelled to be a leader to his team, and to perform at his highest level.
"Bobby's been doing a nice job at practice supporting the younger kids", says his coach Bob Piraino, "Like i said, he's a notch above everyone else in Section 3 in my opinion, but you would never know that watching him with our guys. He helps them, supports them."
Bobby's success also is evident in the classroom where he also tries to lead by example.
