ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - North Dakota goalie Brad Eidsness returned to the lineup to make 15 stops and lead the sixth-ranked Fighting Sioux to a 3-1 men's college hockey win Saturday over seventh-ranked Cornell.

Eidsness sat out Friday's 1-0 loss to the Big Red (10-5-3), but was sharp in his return. Mike Devin broke up Eidsness' shutout bid with 9 seconds left in the game.

Brad Malone scored the first goal for North Dakota (13-8-5) at 1:33 of the first period. That would be the only goal of the game until Chris VandeVelde scored his first goal in five games to make it 2-0.

Jason Gregoire, who hadn't scored a goal in three games, added an empty-netter with 1 second remaining for UND.

Cornell goalie Ben Scrivens made 23 stops for the Big Red, who managed just 31 shots in the weekend series. Cornell had 16 shots Saturday.
