There's been much ado about the new offense being installed with the SU football team. While we won't fully see those results until the season opener September 4th at Akron, the Orange defense will have that same M.O. that we saw in 2009 - pressure and attack.
Defensive Coordinator Scott Shafer received high praise last year for the defense's improvements from the previous season. With players like Doug Hogue, Derrell Smith, and others having another year under their belts, the Orange's defense could be even better. Hopefully there will be more performances like that 10.5 sack effort against Rutgers in November.
We check in with Coach Shafer and the Orange defense to see what makes it so successful and what fans can look for next season.
