SYRACUSE -- The Christian Brothers Academy girls lacrosse team is undefeated this season, and plenty of the credit goes to the lone senior, Katie Webster.

Webster has been on the team since she was in eighth grade. That experience has translated into leadership, a quality that has been so valuable to the Brothers during this stellar 2010 season. Coach Doug Sedgwick says “shes an inspiration to us all”, a bold statement, but not really when talking about Katie Webster.

If you attend a CBA girls lacrosse game, you’ll see Webster directing her teammates on the field. Everyone knows she can find the net, but this year she admits she’s played more of a quarterback role, setting up the offense and tallying plenty of assists in the process.

Katie will continue her lacrosse career close to home, playing for the Syracuse University women’s lacrosse team. She’s already familiar with Coach Gary Gait, Gait’s daughter Taylor is also a member of the CBA team. Certainly Katie’s career is bright, thanks to a second-to-none work ethic and a special talent that sets her a cut above the rest.

Congratulations to Katie Webster, this week’s Dunkin' Donuts CNY Central Athlete!
