CAZENOVIA -- The Cazenovia Girls' lacrosse team finally got their wish. They were allowed to wear their "Taystrong for Taylor" t-shirts during warm-ups before their game against Clinton.

Taylor Matt is a senior at Cazenovia High School. She has leukemia and is in need of a bone marrow transplant. So far, she hasn't found a match.

Laura Jaquith started making the shirts after her daughter, Cazenovia senior Gabby Jaquith, came up with the idea. Proceeds from the shirt sales go toward paying for Matt's chemotherapy treatments.

The school district superintendent previously didn't allow the team to wear the shirts during the entire warm-up because they are not blue or gold, the school's colors. The shirts are purple, Matt's favorite color.

Gabby Jaquith plays on the girls' lacrosse team and is one of Matt's best friends. She says wearing the shirts before senior day meant a lot.

"It fires us all up, we all know why we wear them," Jaquith says. "They're for Taylor, and it's just a great feeling knowing that we're fighting for her when she can't do it herself."

On June 19th, everyone with a Taystrong shirt is invited to the Cazenovia field. An aerial photographer will take a picture of everyone out on the field.
