SYRACUSE -- The Corcoran Cougars were, and remain, the only team to beat the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets in 2010. The Cougars pulled away at the end of a very close game to beat the top-seeded Hornets 13-10. James Cathers led the way with six goals and four assists, including a nifty behind the back shot.

In the other semifinal game, West Genesee held off Liverpool to beat the upstart Warriors 10-5. Last week, Liverpool upset Baldwinsville. But the 'Cats, playing on mission, weren't about to be the next team to be upset.

So the stage is set, West Genesee vs. Corcoran on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Cicero-North Syracuse High School with the winner representing Central New York lacrosse against the rest of the state.

The two teams split their regular season series. Corcoran won on their home field, West Genesee did the same.
