After rain washed away the Section III Softball Championships Saturday at Gillette Road Complex, the games continued on Monday with five new teams crowned champions of Section III.

Finishing a game that was suspended Saturday when the rain came in, South Lewis took care of Bishop Ludden 5-2 in the Class C Championship game.

In Class AA, it was the old rivals Cicero-North Syracuse and Liverpool doing battle. Liverpool won in the regular season, but C-NS got the better of the Warriors Monday night winning 6-1. Liverpool took a 1-0 lead on a Beth Lamison RBI single but the Northstars took off from there winning the Section III Class AA Championship.

Oneida outran Jamesville-DeWitt to win the Class A Championship.

In Class B South Jefferson won 6-2 over Cazenovia. Korena Fenton was 2-3 with a run scored in the losing cause for the Lakers.

In Class D, Stockbridge Valley won a tight contest with Hamilton for the Class D Championship.
