The Auburn Doubledays dropped their first game of the year tonight against the Batavia Muckdogs.

The Doubledays had an early lead 2-1 in the 4^th inning. However, Doubleday pitcher Dayton Marze gave up 3 runs in the 5^th inning and the Muckdogs wouldn’t look back from there.

Trailing 6-3 in the 8^th inning, the Doubleday’s tried hard to fight back, getting a 2 run single from left fielder John Roberts to pull the Doubledays within 1.

Batavia however would add another run in the bottom of the inning and go on to win this one 7-5. The two teams meet again tomorrow night in Auburn. First pitch is at 6:05.
