CORTLAND -- If you're a New York Jets fan, you'll get a chance to welcome the team this Sunday. The Cortland community will dress in green and white to welcome the team on Main Street Sunday, August 1st when the squad pulls in town for the start of this year's summer Training Camp.

To participate in the Jets Touch-Down Party, head to Main Street between Court and Tompkins Streets. There will be music, food, can-jam, street games and giveaways. The party will be held from 3 to 5 p.m.

The event is being organized by the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce, the Cortland Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Cortland Regional Sports Council and the Downtown Partnership. "It should be a fun time and a great way for Cortland to welcome back the Jets to our community," said Machell Phelps, the Cortland Regional Sports Council (CRSC) director. "We want the coaches and players to see a sea of green and white when they arrive."

Plans are underway to have various pieces of Jets logoed merchandise for give away.
