For the unprecedented 5th year in a row, the Fayetteville-Manlius Girls Cross Country Team has won a National Championship. The team set a record in the process, with its scoring total registering at 27. The number 27 reflects the total placements of the Hornet runners (1st, 2nd, 4th, 8th, and 12th place). To put it in perspective, the 2nd place team from Saratoga checked in with a score of 104.

The Hornets who are now members of the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame, have won the Nike National Championships in Oregon every year from 2006-2010.

The F-M Boys finished 2nd place in the Nationals, an impressive feat in itself, their combined score of 135 wasn't enough as the winners checked in at 92.
