It was a special night at Westhill high school, as the back-to-back New York State baseball champions earned their state title rings. The Warriors won an epic game that was rain delayed countless times in June to repeat as State Champions. On Tuesday, the team gathered one more time to earn their rings. I had the distinct honor of presenting the team with their rings, it was fantastic to be a part of a special night for the entire community.
The ceremony took place at halftime of the Westhill-Solvay boys basketball game, which was a triumph for the Warriors as they beat the Bearcats 69-38. Four players scored 15 points each for the Warriors in the victory.
Elsewhere in boys hoops, CBA won a hard-fought game against the defending Section III champs from C-NS 58-55. Greg Thomsen paced the Brothers with 19 points and 20 rebounds. Top-notch recruit DaJuan Coleman scored 28 points in Jamesville-Dewitt's 68-43 over East Syracuse Minoa.
