Sunday was supposed to be the day all of the Orange football team arrived in New York City to begin preparation for the New Era Pinstripe Bowl.

But heavy snowstorms have stranded some of the players as they try to make their way to the Big Apple.

Head coach Doug Marrone said last week the plan was for the team to meet in the city rather than all travel together because many of the players were away for the holiday break.

The coaching staff and approximately 20 players arrived in New York City this afternoon after taking a train from Syracuse. But flight cancellations across the country have delayed most of the team.

An SU Athletics spokesperson says all players who are not with the team are accounted for.

The Orange is scheduled to have it's first practice in the city Monday afternoon as they prepare for the Pinstripe Bowl against Kansas State on Thursday.
