The defending state-champion boys hockey team from West Genesee is proving to all of Section III they are poised to make another run. The Wildcats hosted Corcoran, an extremely talented team in their own right, and beat the Cougars 8-0 at Shove Park Monday night. Nick Holzhauer netted yet another hat trick for West Genesee with 5 total points as the 'Cats were able to beat a stellar effort in net from Gavin Gretsky who tallied 29 saves for Corcoran. Shawn Lynch scored twice, and dished out an assist for West Genny. With the win, West Genny improves to 11-2-2 while Corcoran falls to 8-4-1.

In boys basketball, the Syracuse Academy of Science took out Port Byron 79-49 at home on Monday night. Dakeem Mclain led the way with 22 points, he was helped out by a pair of 18 point efforts from Ahmet Tunali and Kaleel Johnson. Port Byron was led in scoring by Vinnie Giannettino who scored 16 points.
