It may not feel like it outside, but high school lacrosse is underway across Central New York. An interesting cross-class game was played under the lights at Cicero-North Syracuse tonight, as the Northstars hosted Watertown IHC. Both teams had some early season kinks to work out, but perhaps surprisingly IHC took out C-NS 6-3. It was a 2-2 tie at halftime, but the Cavs prevailed late in this early season affair.

Elsewhere in Central New York, Henninger and Central Square matched up in another highly contested game. Only one goal separated the two teams throughout the first three quarters, as the Red Hawks held a slim 6-5 lead at the beginning of the fourth quarter. But, an offensive explosion in the form of five goals by the Black Knights put the game out of reach late in the fourth, as Central Square was unable to overcome the late-game deficit. That led to a 10-7 Henninger victory, with Colin Montgomery leading the Black Knights with four goals and two assists on the day. In the losing effort, Central Square's Anthony Bird tallied four points of his own.

The Central Square girls though, did earn a victory tonight, edging out Corcoran 11-10.
