It once again, didn't feel like a spring sport day, but that didn't stop several lacrosse games from being played across the area.

We'll start with Onondaga and Tully, who moved their game under the lights, and rain, at Corcoran. The conditions seemed to have an effect on both offenses, as the teams struggled to a 3-2 score at the break (OCS led). The Tigers came alive in the 2nd half, erupting for 10 goals, while only giving up two the rest of the way for a 13-4 victory.

West Genesee continued to prove its on a mission here in 2011. After dispatching Carthage on Wednesday, the Wildcats took out Corcoran on Friday. The 'Cats were paced by Cody Hoose and Corey Herrington. Hoose had 8 points, with 4 goals and 4 assists, while Herrington had 6 points with 4 goals, 2 assists. Captain Dylan Donahue had a hat trick as well. The Wildcats are next in action Tuesday, when they hit the road for Baldwinsville.

Baseball season is also upon us, even at the high school ranks teams are getting ready to go. We stopped by Westhill Friday, where the two-time defending champs are hard at work and well aware of what's at stake this season. We'll check in with Westhill next week too, as we feature Nathan Nigolian as our Bryant and Stratton College CNY Central Athlete, and take a look at a newcomer to the team.

Here's a look at some other scores from Friday:

Boys Lacrosse:

Cortland 14, Whitesboro 9

Girls Lacrosse:

Auburn 9, Waterloo 5

Watertown 16, Henninger/Nottingham 5

RFA 4, Whitesboro 2
